Bespoke living defined by clarity
Lucent is an architecture studio turning ambitious briefs into buildings that feel inevitable — considered, durable and led by daylight.
Architecture
Interior Design
Renovation
Founded in 2011, Lucent is a deliberately small practice
The principal architect leads every project from brief to handover, so the thinking that shapes the first sketch carries all the way through to the last detail on site. Every project begins with reading the site and the brief honestly, before a single line is drawn.

Considered, crafted, lasting solutions
Three principles that run through every project we take on, from the first sketch to the last inspection.
Considered
Every project begins with reading the site and the brief honestly, then deciding what the new work should add, contrast or preserve.
Crafted
Nothing is drawn before the questions have been asked properly. Detail is resolved on paper long before it reaches the site.
Lasting
We design for the building's tenth year, not its launch photo. Durability is a form of respect for whoever inherits the work.
A complete service under one roof
So nothing falls between the drawings and the build — one team, accountable end to end.

Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you need? Write to us — we answer every message ourselves.
How do I start a project with Lucent?
Send us a short note about your site, your budget range and the life you want the building to support. We reply within two working days and book a free 40-minute consultation to see whether we are the right studio for you.
What services does the studio provide?
We cover the full arc — architecture, renovation and interior design — from first sketch through planning permission to on-site delivery. Many clients engage us for a single stage; most stay for all of them.
How long does a typical project take?
A private home usually runs 15–22 months from brief to keys, and a commercial fit-out 10–15 months. We give an honest, stage-by-stage programme at the outset and update it at every milestone.
Do you work on sustainable and heritage builds?
Always. Low energy use, natural materials and a long service life are built into every brief, not sold as an upgrade. Where a building already stands, we default to reuse before we default to rebuild.
How are fees structured?
For most projects we charge a percentage of construction cost, typically 9–13% depending on scope and complexity. Smaller, well-defined pieces of work can be set as a fixed fee. You always see the number before any work begins.
